The 3 Types of Aspies
One of the most characteristic symptoms of Aspergers (high-functioning autism) is a deficit in social behavior. Many reports written by researchers have described this problem and it is thought by many to be the key defining feature of Aspergers. The social problems can be classified into three categories: socially indifferent, socially awkward, and socially avoidant.

Best Comment: I am now age 60 and was only diagnosed last year. I'm still trying to determine what is blocking my understanding of my "autistic" self. I think it is more than just the masking that keep me confused or oblivious to things I only understand in retrospect. So many things happen outside of my awareness. It is hard just trying to fill in the gaps. Its hard to even find the gaps. Masking ( trying to be neurotypical) created another layer of denial and avoidance of real traits, tendencies, bias...etc So it can be a real mess to sort out.
